DeMar DeRozan banked in 38 points as he, together with Nikola Vucevic, led the Chicago Bulls to a 106-101 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
This has been DeRozan’s fifth consecutive game with 35 or more points and he became just the second player besides Michael Jordan to do so in the Bulls history. Jordan did it four times throughout his career, most recently in 1996.
“It’s just an honor to be in the same [spot] — any type of record book — with one of the greatest of all time. Especially playing for this organization. It’s an honor. It probably [hasn’t] hit me right now. I don’t know what roll I’m on. Just being myself,” DeRozan said.
During this streak, DeRozan has shot at least 50% from the field in all five games, tied for the longest such streak by any player over the past 30 seasons, per ESPN’s stats.
