Five days after Goran Dragic’s trade to the San Antonio Spurs, the two sides have agreed to a contract buyout and the Slovenian veteran is entering free agency, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reports.
The two sides have been negotiating a buyout as soon as the trade took place, with several teams looking to recruit the 14-season NBA veteran. Namely, Dallas Mavericks, Milwaukee Bucks, Chicago Bulls, and LA Clippers have been in the mix for Dragic.
Dragic, 35, has only played five games with the Toronto Raptors this season while posting an average of 8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists across 16.5 minutes on the court. He left the team in November due to a personal issue and has remained off the court since, as he did not play for the Spurs in between his trade and contract buyout.
Dragic, a 2018 NBA All-Star, has career averages of 13.9 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.1 rebounds across his 14 seasons in the league.
