The Philadelphia Sixers will be signing center DeAndre Jordan according to multiple reports. The former All-Star big man has cleared waivers from the Los Angeles Lakers and is able to join his new team.
While Jordan arrives in Philadelphia, center Willie Cauley-Stein will depart from the team upon the expiration of his 10-day contract.
The Sixers had an available spot on their roster and decided to give it to Jordan to add the contribution of a veteran off the bench. Jordan, 33, averaged 4.1 points and 5.4 rebounds in 12.8 minutes over 32 games with the Lakers before he parted ways with the club on Tuesday.
In Philadelphia, Jordan will be reunited with his former Brooklyn Nets teammate James Harden. The Sixers are the fifth team in Jordan’s career after the Los Angeles Clippers, the Dallas Mavericks, the New York Knicks and the Lakers.
