New Orleans Pelicans are expected to miss guard CJ McCollum for a few games as he entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols Thursday. This is another major blow for the Pelicans, who have also sidelined Brandon Ingram for at least a week with a right hamstring strain.
The Pelicans hold a 27-39 record and currently sit in 10th seed in the Western Conference standings, with a 1.5 game lead over the Portland Trail Blazers for the final spot in the upcoming play-in tournament.
McCollum, 30, landed in New Orleans from the Trail Blazers as part of a seven-player trade back in February, and so far leads his new team with an average of 27.1 points and 6.7 assists across 12 games.
