Kevin Durant was outstanding in the 110-107 win of the Brooklyn Nets versus the New York Knicks. He dropped 53 points on 19-37 shooting while also adding nine assists, six rebounds, and two steals.
Durant was also the one to decide the outcome directly in the last few minutes. Durant banked in a three-pointer with a minute left to hand Brooklyn a 106-103 lead and then scored four out of his next four free throws to seal the deal.
Andre Drummond had 18 and Bruce Brown 15 points. Goran Dragic logged seven points and six assists including the one that he dished out to Durant for the dagger three.
On the opposing side, Evan Fournier was 9-13 from the field on his way to 25 points while Julius Randle scored 26 and RJ Barrett 24 points.
Despite so many great displays, not all of the spotlight was on the court. Kyrie Irving, who cannot play due to the New York city mandate and his unvaccinated status, was present courtside.
Not only that, he was allowed to attend the game as a spectator while moving freely and maskless. Per Shams Charania, he also joined the team in the locker room at halftime.
