The Charlotte Hornets are signing guard Isaiah Thomas to a new contract for the remainder of the season, per Shams Charania.
After 10-day contracts with LA Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, and Charlotte Hornets – Thomas will settle with the latter.
Thomas averaged ten points per contest with the Hornets and assumed a leadership role. The team has been 7-2 since signing the guard. In the most recent win of Charlotte (vs Pelicans), the veteran scored 15 points.
Charlotte is sitting in the ninth spot of the Eastern Conference with a 37-35 record and has secured a play-in ticket. They can still improve in the standings, chasing Brooklyn (38-34) and Toronto (40-32) while the Cavs are sixth with 41-31.
