Ty Lue had a short comment when it comes to the scoring prowess of Joel Embiid and James Harden – about their free throw attempts

The Philadelphia 76ers got a dominant win over the LA Clippers with 122-97, led by Joel Embiid and James Harden who scored 27 and 29 points respectively.

On their way to game-highs, the Sixers duo shot 19 times from the free-throw line with Embiid going 7-8 and Harden 11-11 from the charity stripe. Drawing fouls has become a particular skill in modern basketball but not everybody looks at it kindly and see it instead as abusing the system.

Clippers coach Ty Lue also had a few words regarding Harden and Embiid’s presence on the free-throw line. It should be noted, however, that the LA squad actually shot one free throw more with Terance Mann and Isaiah Hartenstein logging seven each.

“Embiid is number one in the league in free throws and James Harden is number three. You take away their free throws and neither guy would be top-10 in scoring,” Lue said.

Embiid is averaging 29.8 points while attempting a league-high 11.8 free throw attempts. Meanwhile, Harden is averaging 22.5 points with 8.4 free throw attempts (third-highest in the league).
