The Utah Jazz are signing center Greg Monroe to a 10-day contract according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. Monroe was a free agent after his latest stint with G League team Capital City Go-Go (Washington Wizard’s affiliate).
Monroe, 31, had stints with the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Washington Wizards in his return to the NBA after playing in EuroLeague for two seasons. The veteran big man had a standout run with Bayern Munich during his debut year overseas in 2019-2020 and then joined Khimki Moscow where he stayed until January 2021.
Before he took the trip to Europe, Monroe played for such teams as the Detroit Pistons, Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns and the Philadelphia 76ers. He had his most productive seasons in the NBA with the Pistons in 2013 (16.0 points, 9.6 rebounds) and Milwaukee in 2015 (15.9 points, 10.2 rebounds)
