Luka Doncic suffered a left calf strain in Dallas Mavericks’ regular-season final matchup against the San Antonio Spurs, an MRI scan confirmed Monday per ESPN’s reports.
Per the report, there’s no timetable for the Slovenian star’s return to action, and his status for Game 1 of the first-round playoffs series vs. Utah Jazz is still uncertain.
Doncic, who landed the last Player of the Week honor in the Western Conference for the regular season, suffered said injury in the third quarter of the Mavs’ Sunday game against the Spurs and was helped to the lockers, while a photo of him wearing a foot protector surfaced Monday as he was on his way to the hospital for the MRI scan.
The Mavs have locked the fourth seed in West at the finale of the regular season, led by Doncic who has averaged 28.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 8.7 assists in 65 games this season. They will face the Jazz for Game 1 this Saturday, April 16.
