French forward Ousmane Dieng will be entering the NBA Draft, the player told ESPN. He spent the 2021-22 season playing pro basketball in the Australian NBL League with the New Zealand Breakers.
Dieng, who became 18 in March, averaged 8.9 points and 3.2 rebounds in 20:79 minutes over 24 games in NBL. He will now march to the Draft as a projected lottery pick and a prospect with notable scoring and passing skills.
“Playing in a tough league with really good players was really good for me,” Dieng said to ESPN. “I learned a lot. The transition was significant, going up against much better players than I saw in France. The game is faster. Everyone is more physical.”
In 2019, Dieng was a member of the French national team that won silver medal in the FIBA U16 European Championship.
