While it was reported that Luka Doncic is unlikely to join the Dallas Mavericks on the floor for Game 2 against the Utah Jazz, the Slovenian star has shown some positive development.
Doncic joined the Mavs shootaround and was seen being more active than earlier, shooting from multiple long-range positions as well as lightly jumping, something he wasn’t doing during the previous practice.
However, although he’s shown promise, coach Jason Kidd noted that Doncic will remain a game-time decision and that his status is doubtful.
The Mavs lost the opening game of the playoffs despite multiple players stepping up in Doncic’s absence, including Jalen Brunson and Spencer Dinwiddie. Utah’s duo of Donovan Mitchell and Bojan Bogdanovic were too much for the Mavs to handle without Doncic.
