Chicago Bulls star guard Zach LaVine has entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols for COVID-19, the team announced. The 27-year-old player is expected to miss the upcoming Game 5 of the vs. the Milwaukee Bucks that lead the series 3-1.
This absence leaves the Bulls without one of their elite players while the team is facing elimination in a do-or-die game. In the four previous matches of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals, LaVine was averaging 19.0 points, 6.3 assists and 5.0 rebounds in 38.3 minutes. He was the leading performer of his squad in the Game 4 loss, with 24 points and 13 assists.
