The LA Clippers and forward Robert Covington have agreed on a two-year, $24 million contract extension, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Covington, 31, posted averages of 10.4 points on 45% shooting from deep across 23 games with the Clippers this season, following his February trade from the Portland Trail Blazers. He is set to play his 10th NBA season, bringing in experience with the Rockets, Sixers, Timberwolves and most recently the Trail Blazers and Clippers.

Prior to signing his contract extension, Covington was set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, which would have been limited in salary cap space. Per Wojnarowski, Covington was entitled to re-sign with the Clippers for a maximum of two years under collective bargaining regulations.

The Clippers have been eliminated from playoffs contention after losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves and New Orleans Pelicans in the play-in tournament.
