The Dallas Mavericks tied the series against the Phoenix Suns at 2-2 but the fourth game of the series was also marked by an incident in the stands.
Several family members of Chris Paul were in attendance for Game 4 but they found themselves a target for unpleasant gestures of Dallas fans.
They were, according to ESPN, harassed and physically contacted by a fan in the crowd. Paul’s mother Robin, his wife Jada, and their two children watched the game in seats close behind the Suns’ bench. Robin had hands put on her and Jada was pushed while Paul’s kids were there to witness it.
The Mavericks fans were removed from the arena and the team announced the following statement: “It was unacceptable behavior and will not be tolerated. The Mavericks, along with American Airlines Center, swiftly removed the fan from today’s game.”
Needless to say, Chris Paul was very angry during the incident as well as after the game in which he fouled out with eight minutes remaining and was in foul trouble throughout the whole match.
He gave an angry comment via social media.
“Wanna fine players for saying stuff to the fans but the fans can put they hands on our families … f— that!!”
