Hours after being hired by the Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors associate head coach Mike Brown led the team to a 101-98 victory and a 3-1 lead over the Memphis Grizzlies, in the wake of Steve Kerr testing positive for COVID-19.

Stephen Curry scored 32 points, along with 8 assists and 5 rebounds, and converted eight free throws in the last 45 seconds of the game, as the “Dubs” are now one victory away from clinching a ticket to the Western Conference finals.

Andrew Wiggins posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole each added 14 points for the Warriors.

An already emotionally charged day for the Warriors became even tougher when the news of Adreian Payne’s passing broke out. Warriors forward Draymond Green and Payne shared a friendship since their college years when they used to play for the same team. Green was “crushed” over his friend’s death, coach Kerr had told media before Game 4.

Still, the Warriors managed to stick together for a chance to close off the series Wednesday in Memphis.

Jaren Jackson scored 21 points, Tyus Jones added 19, while Steven Adams added a double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds, as the Grizzlies still lacked injured All-Star Ja Morant. Per various reports, Morant’s status for Game 5 remains unclear.
