The Golden State Warriors closed out the series against the Memphis Grizzlies with a convincing 110-96 win in Game 6.
Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green made sure to get the job done as soon as possible and not allow Memphis to force a Game 7 on their own court.
The Splash Brothers combined for 59 points with Thompson scoring 30 and Curry 29. They also grabbed eight and seven rebounds respectively while Curry had five assists as well.
Andrew Wiggins logged a double-double with 18 points, 11 rebounds while Draymond Green had an all-around display of 14 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists.
On the opposing side, Dillon Brooks scored 30 and Desmond Bane 25 points while Jaren Jackson had 12.
The Warriors did win out now but Curry knows that Memphis is here to stay and they will be a tough competitor in the future.
“I have a lot of respect for every single guy on the team in terms of how they are built as a group, the individual talent. They have a lot of energy, a lot of potential in terms of winning at the highest level. They were the higher seed for a reason. They had an amazing regular season and dominated throughout the course of those 82 games. For us to be able to come out of the series with a W, like there’s definitely respect. There’s definitely an understanding that they made us better; I’m sure we made them better” Curry said and added a few more words on Ja Morant who got injured during the series.
“His numbers are crazy. The sky’s the limit. Like I said, they are going to be around for a long time, fighting for Western Conference prowess. So we’ll enjoy this and keep moving towards our goal but you have to understand that they are going to be around for the long haul, and he’s a problem. So definitely an amazing match-up, fun, entertaining, high-level basketball, all the antics and pettiness and all that stuff, I love all of it.”
