It proved to be more than easy for Dallas and it was kind of unexpected. However, with a team not having to expect everything from Luka Doncic, the Mavs beat the Warriors 119-109 (1-3) and avoided elimination.
Doncic finished the game missing just one assist for a tiple double (30 p., 14 r., 9 a.) with Dorian Finney-Smith adding 23 points an Reggie Bullock having 18 and both of them combined for 10/17 threes.
Shooting threes was the key for Dallas. The Mavs had 11 made shots out of 23 attempts in the first two quarters. On the contrary, the Warriors made only three in 16 attempts and trailed by 15 (62-47).
“When we share the ball, we are a dangerous team”, said Doncic after the game.
Things did not change in the second half, with the Mavs getting a 81-56 lead after starting the third quarter with 8/10 threes. Dallas led even by 29 points (99-70) and the game was prematurely over.
The best thing the Warriors did after that was to trim the lead to eight points (110-102), but Dallas kept things under control. Steph Curry scored 20 points, however, no player of the Warriors has any reason to remember this contest.
Next Game in coming in Miami in two days.
