Serbian coach Igor Kokoskov is expected to part ways with the Dallas Mavericks to join the Brooklyn Nets as an assistant to Steve Nash, according to a report by Marc Stein.
Kokoskov, 50, moved back to the NBA after spending the 2020-2021 season with Fenerbahce in the EuroLeague and joined the Mavs‘ coaching staff as an assistant this past campaign.
A former head coach of the Serbian, Slovenian and Georgian selection, as well as the Phoenix Suns (2018-19), Kokoskov is moving to Brooklyn for the first time in his career.
Kokoskov has won the NBA championship with the Detroit Pistons in 2004 under head coach Larry Brown, while in 2017 he led Slovenia to its first-ever EuroBasket trophy.
