Utah Jazz coach Quinn Snyder plans to step down according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Snyder was previously reported to consider leaving the Jazz despite having an offer to extend his existing contract with the club.
The Jazz later announced Snyder’s departure, saying that “… he’s concluding his tenure as the franchise’s head coach.”
Under Snyder, the Jazz made the Western Conference semifinals twice, in 2018 and 2021, losing to the Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Clippers respectively. In 2021, they also finished with a league-best record 52-20 in the regular season.
Last season the Jazz went 49 – 33 to finish fifth in the West and then were eliminated by the Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the playoffs.
