Stephen Curry scored 29 points, Jordan Poole completed a huge third-quarter run with a mid-court shot and the Golden State Warriors beat the Boston Celtics 107-88 in Game 2 to even the NBA Finals.
Poole finished with 17 points for the Warriors, who outscored Boston 35-14 in the third quarter and led by 23 points. This time there was no coming back for the Celtics with the Warriors scoring the first six points of the fourth.
As Curry said: “We shoot half court shots at every practice and shootaround. If you make one during the game, we count it. [Jordan Poole] took the lead tonight.”
Golden State also got 12 points from Kevon Looney on 6-for-6 shooting, and 11 apiece from Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson. Serb forward Nemanja Bjelica added six points and five rebounds in 11 minutes of action.
Jayson Tatum scored 21 of his 28 points in the close first half for Boston. Jaylen Brown added 17 for the Celtics on a 5-for-17 shooting night, and Derrick White scored 12. German big man Daniel Theis had five rebounds and one assist.
Game 3 is Wednesday in Boston.
