Winning the championship in 2015 was the major highlight of Andrew Bogut’s lengthy run in the NBA. Recalling the successful stint at the Golden State Warriors, he took a step back one year before the title and shared his view on the former head coach of the organization Mark Jackson.
“I think everyone deserves a second chance and he will eventually get another chance. But the well-noted church within a locker room I think hurts his job prospects,” he answered a question regarding Jackson during an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit Sunday. Jackson was removed from his position in 2014 with Steve Kerr taking over head coaching responsibilities and guiding the team to the 2015, 2017, and 2018 championships.
Bogut played for the Warriors between 2012 and 2016 and returned in 2019. Stephen Curry is among his teammates stretching a career all the way into the present and the ongoing 2022 NBA Finals.
“He is one of the few superstars I have been around that does not act like a superstar,” he stressed replying to a question about the three-time NBA champion, “He is one of the best human beings in the NBA.”
“I had Golden State Warriors win 4-2 before this series. But I think it could go to Game 7,” he noted on the best-of-seven series versus the Boston Celtics currently tied at two wins apiece, “The Boston Celtics are tough, but the Warriors have that championship toughness through experience, oh and Steph Curry!”
Also standing out in the long series of questions and answers, Bogut mentioned that Toni Kukoc was his basketball idol growing up.
