Boban Marjanovic was moved to the Houston Rockets from the Dallas Mavericks as a trading asset in the deal for big man Christian Wood but the Serbian center could have a n actualrole on his new team.
According to the Houston Chronicle, the Rockets are “weighing keeping” Marjanovic on the roster and making him a part of the center rotation. In the meantime, all other players ( who were acquired by the Mavericks in the Wood deal (Marquese Chriss, Sterling Brown and Trey Burke) are expected to be leaving the team.
This means that the Rockets may have at least three European players on their frontline since there’s also Turkish center Alperen Sengun and Spanish forward/center Usman Garuba who both come off their rookie years.
The 2022-23 season will be Marjanovic’s eighth in the NBA. The 33-year-old center previously had stints with the San Antonio Spurs, Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Clippers and the Detroit Pistons.
