Golden Warriors superstar Steph Curry joked that he’s “not good yet” because he first needs to join his coach Steve Kerr and Team USA in the 2024 Olympic Games and, well, win the gold medal.
“I’m not good yet. Because I got to play for coach Kerr in 2024, in Paris and try to…” Curry said when he was asked during the 2022 championship parade if the Finals MVP award he just won makes him good. The question was likely a reference to comments by TV pundits that Curry can’t be truly considered among the all-time greats unless he gets MVP of the Finals like other certified legends and Hall of Famers.
Which he did. But does he actually plan to play in the Paris Olympics?
“That wasn’t ‘I’m gonna do it.’ That’s what just… what he said,” Curry added pointing at Kerr.

Curry, a four-time NBA champion, two-time season MVP and now Finals MVP, has won everything there is to win as a basketball player on a national and international level except from an Olympic medal. He was a member of the Team USA squad that became champion in the 2010 and 2014 FIBA World Cup tournaments but was absent from the 2012, 2016 and 2021 Olympics for injury and resting/recovery reasons.
Team USA will look to extend an impressive streak in Paris since they have won the gold medal in four straight Olympic tournaments.
