The Sacramento Kings are the new owners of Sasha Vezenkov’s NBA rights. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cleveland Cavaliers traded the rights to Olympiacos’ All-EuroLeague forward for this year’s 26th pick in the NBA Draft.
Vezenkov, 26, comes from the best season of his career so far. The Bulgarian player averaged 13.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists in EuroLeague to help Olympiacos reach the Final Four for the first time since 2017 while being named to the competition’s First Team.
In Greece, Vezenkov had 18.6 points (on 10-15 3-pointers), 6.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists in the Finals as Olympiacos swept archrival Panathinaikos 3-0 to win the championship.
Vezenkov, a quite versatile offensive forward, was considered a top European prospect since his youth. At 19 years of age, he was the Greek League MVP and top scorer with Aris Thessaloniki, before moving to EuroLeague powerhouse Barcelona. In 2018, he joined Olympiacos and established himself as one of the elite players in the EuroLeague.
