Recovering from a torn left ACL, Joe Ingles will be heading to the Milwaukee Bucks on a one-year contract, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
After suffering the season-ending injury in January, the Utah Jazz traded him to the Portland Trail Blazers in February. He was not projected to return to action, despite the Blazers acquiring him in the three-team trade additionally including the San Antonio Spurs and he officially became an unrestricted free agent Friday morning.
Ingles, 34, had spent his entire NBA career with the Jazz. Since 2014, he averaged 8.7 points, 3.8 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 0.9 steals, and 0.2 blocks per game, including 7.2 points, 3.5 assists, 2.9 rebounds, 0.5 steals, and 0.1 blocks per contest in the 2021-22 season. The career shooting percentage of 40.8% from the three-point range stands out in the remaining stats. In 2020-21, he was the runner-up for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award.
Before moving to the NBA, Ingles enjoyed plenty of success in Europe, highlighted by the 2013-14 season at Maccabi Tel Aviv and the EuroLeague championship combined with the league championship and Israeli cup at the domestic level. Playing for FC Barcelona from 2010 to 2013, he was crowned ACB champion in 2011 and 2012.
At the international level representing Australia has been the case in multiple major FIBA tournaments. From the 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020 Olympic Games to three editions of the World Cup. Last summer, he helped the Boomers conquer the bronze medals in Tokyo.
