Slovenian forward Vlatko Cancar and the Denver Nuggets have extended their collaboration with a new three-year deal, that also includes a team option for the third year.
Cancar, 25, first joined the Nuggets for the 2019-20 season. He was selected by the team in the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft, though he remained in Europe with Mega Leks in the ABA League and, later on, with Burgos of the Spanish Liga Endesa.
He appeared in 14 contests in his first year with the Nuggets, before being assigned to the Erie BayHawks, and made his return in 2020-21, when he played in 41 games, producing an average of 2.1 points and 1.2 rebounds in limited time on the court.
Cancar played in 15 games with the Nuggets this past season, averaging NBA career-best numbers of 4.1 points, 1.1 assists, and 2.1 rebounds in 11.7 minutes.
The extension was confirmed Thursday by Cancar’s agent Misko Raznatovic.
