Kevin Durant may stay after all with the Nets, but if that’s the case, then coach Steve Nash and GM Sean Marks will need to find a job elsewhere.
That’s the case at this point, according to the Athletic.
Per the report: In a face-to-face meeting with Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai over the weekend, All-NBA star Kevin Durant reiterated his trade request and informed Tsai that he needs to choose between Durant or the pairing of general manager Sean Marks and coach Steve Nash, sources tell The Athletic. Durant stated he does not have faith in the team’s direction, sources said.
This is a clear ultimatum from Durant which makes it obvious that there’s a huge and unbridgeable gap inside the Nets.
However, Nets owner Joe Tsai via twitter already declared his support to Nash and Marks.
With Tsai leaving no doubts, the reaction of Durant is expected.
Our front office and coaching staff have my support. We will make decisions in the best interest of the Brooklyn Nets.
