Luka Doncic may return to Madrid, this time for a preseason game against Real Madrid, as Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News reported.
Per the report: “Owner Mark Cuban said Wednesday that a Mavericks–Real Madrid exhibition matchup is in the works for the 2023 preseason if the teams and the NBA can agree on logistics”.
Of course, this would be an event to remember, since Doncic grew up in Madrid’s junior teams and he is still beloved in the Spanish capital as much as in his native Slovenia.
“I don’t know that we’ll be able to play a preseason game in Slovenia,” Cuban said, “but we’re working really hard to play one against Real Madrid.”
It has to be noted that Doncic participated in a similar game as a Real Madrid player back in October 2016, when the Spanish powerhouse hosted the Oklahoma City Thunder and ultimately got the 142-137 win.
