The Mavericks ended up being fashionably late, but one day after the announcement of the NBA opening day rosters they officially signed Facundo Campazzo.
Meanwhile, Mavs also kept last season’s EuroLeague standout Τyler Dorsey with a two-way contract. Like Campazzo, Dorsey had a market waiting for him in Europe.
Campazzo will play once more alongside Luka Doncic, who was his teammate at Real Madrid. The two of them played together during 2017-18 when the Blancos won the EuroLeague and ACB championship titles.
Campazzo spent two more years with Real after Doncic’s departure and took the torch as the team’s leader. In 2019, he helped the Spanish powerhouse win the ACB while being named Finals MVP.
The Argentinian guard averaged 5.6 points, 3.5 assists, and 1.8 rebounds in 20.1 minutes over 130 regular season games during his two-year stint with the Nuggets.
