Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo was named the NBA’s Player of the Week in the Eastern Conference for the games played from October 24 to 30. It’s the 18th time in his career that he wins the award.
Memphis Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant (31.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists) was picked as Player of the Week among Western Conference representatives.
Antetokounmpo averaged 35.7 points, 15.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists to lead the Bucks to wins over the Brooklyn Nets (110 – 99), New York Knicks (110 – 98) and Atlanta Hawks (123 – 115). Thanks to these performances, the Greek Freak also registered the scoring four-game stretch ever in his career.
The Bucks are the only undefeated team in the NBA behind Giannis’ displays. The 2021 champions are 5-0 despite missing Khris Middleton (wrist).
If Antetokounmpo retains these kind of numbers, then he’ll be the No. 1 favorite to finish 2022-23 with the third season MVP award of his career after 2019 and 2020.
