Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons has played in 10 out of the 15 games of his team so far in 2022-23 and his performances aren’t exactly what has been expected of him.

While the Nets suffer to register enough wins and are currently sitting at a 6-9 record, Simmons has been averaging 5.8 rebounds, 6.1 rebounds and 5.6 assists per match. He hasn’t shown any aggressiveness on the floor, taking 4.5 shots. Over the last four games, he just went to the free-throw line once.

The Nets are actually winning more minus Simmons since they are 3-7 in games with the Australian former All-Star on board. Now, The Athletic reports that there are people in the franchise, including players and coaches, who question how committed he is, not only to his team but to his own game as well.

Per The Athletic:

According to multiple sources with direct knowledge of the situation, the frustration surrounding Simmons had been building in recent weeks within the organization. The coaching staff and players have been concerned about his availability and level of play, with some questioning his passion for the game, those sources said. But even when he did play, Simmons’ struggles in his first nine games this season were part of the Nets frustration as well.
