On the NBA night, the Dallas Mavericks won 127-99 against the Denver Nuggets, which didn’t have Nikola Jokic. Luka Doncic was the main reason why they got the upper hand.

The Slovenian 23-year-old superstar got the 33 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists triple-double, his 50th registered since he joined the NBA.

Doncic accomplished this in his 278th career game, one fewer than it took Magic Johnson. Only Oscar Robertson needed fewer games (111) to get 50 NBA triple-doubles.

The number 77 kept stayed humble despite his amazing accomplishment. “It’s amazing. Every time you ask me, I have the same answer. It’s a pleasure. I’m just really glad that I’m here and doing this”, he said after the game.

Also, it was also the 25th time that Doncic has scored at least 30 points in a triple-double. According to ESPN Stats & Information research, he’s 5th in NBA history on this, trailing only Oscar Robertson, Russell Westbrook, LeBron James, and James Harden.

“He’s already rewriting the record book. That’s pretty cool. Oscar is pretty special, so now to be right there behind Oscar being second fastest to 50 just shows you how special he is”, said the Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd, who took 649 games to record 50 triple-doubles in his career.

The former Real Madrid player is averaging 34.1 points (1st in the NBA), 9.1 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game in the 2022-23 Regular Season, leading his team to a 9-6 record.
