Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis will be out of action indefinitely with a stress injury in his right foot, the club announced. The eight-time All-Star big man was hurt during a game against the Denver Nuggets on 16/12 but the Lakers hadn’t released any details about his injury until a week afterward.
Per Lakers:
After extensive consultation with Lakers team physicians and outside specialists, it has been determined that Anthony Davis has a stress injury in his right foot. Davis will be out indefinitely. Further updates will be provided when appropriate.
Following some initial reports that were mentioning that Davis may be out indefinitely, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst mentioned that his injury is serious and a cause of concern for the Lakers. It seems that these fears are now confirmed since the 2020 NBA champion may miss a significant number of games.
Before his injury, Davis had 33.3 points in December while producing a monster performance of 55 points in a Lakers victory over the Washington Wizards. He was overall averaging 27.4 points and 12.1 rebounds.
