The Mavericks waived Tyler Dorsey on Monday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Dorsey was with the Mavericks on a two-way contract and he played only three games this season in the NBA averaging 3.0 points in 2.7 minutes per game. He’ll part ways with the club after Dallas signed A.J. Lawson to a two-way deal Monday.
With him soon becoming a free agent, a return to Europe can’t be excluded and Dorsey already has a market waiting for him in the EuroLeague.
Many clubs already expressed their initial interest just before the start of the season when Dorsey was in danger of being cut prematurely.
Among the possible suitors, his former team Olympiacos is included since Dorsey has a Greek passport and can be added to the roster for the Greek League games without any limitation or need to replace a non-Greek player.
Meanwhile, Turkish champions Fenerbahce was the team that presented Dorsey with the biggest contract offer last summer.
Dorsey was an instrumental part of Olympiacos‘ Final Four run last season.
