Opening the NBA Saturdays schedule, the Miami Heat rolled the Milwaukee Bucks, 111-95.
Giannis Antetokounmpo missing the second straight game at Miami-Dade Arena resulted in a second loss. His side fell to 27-16. In contrast, the hosts improved to 24-20 with a third win in a row.
After setting his career-high at 28 points a couple of days ago, Nigeria international Gabe Vincent went for 27 points behind 11/14 field goals, including five triples. He additionally registered five steals, three rebounds, and two assists.
The team coached by Erik Spoelstra did not trail, except for an early one-point deficit. However, a 15-point advantage was reduced to shooting distance in the second half before creating a new double-digit distance and eventually blowing out the Bucks. Bam Adebayo poured 14 of his 20 points and Victor Oladipo 11 of his own 20 points in the fourth quarter emerging as the late enforcers of the NBA Regular Season contest.
Heat’s Europeans Nikola Jovic (lower back stress reaction) and Omer Yurtseven (left ankle surgery) remained out as well alongside Kyle Lowry (left knee discomfort), Duncan Robinson (right finger surgery), Tyler Herro (left Achilles soreness), and Caleb Martin (left quadriceps strain). Dewayne Dedmon returning after serving his one-game suspension did not play and neither did Udonis Haslem dealing with right Achilles tendinosis.
For Milwaukee, besides Giannis being ruled out with left knee soreness, both Serge Ibaka (personal) and Khris Middleton (right knee soreness) were unavailable as well. Georgian Sandro Mamukelashvili logged five points over 7 minutes with Greek Thanasis Antetokounmpo grabbing one rebound in three minutes. Bobby Portis got a team-high 15 points.
