After a convincing 79-63 win over Tortona, head coach of Emporio Armani Milano Ettore Messina commented on reports about Kemba Walker and his team.
Italian newspaper “Gazzetta dello Sport” first mentioned the four-times All-Star guard scenario story in their print edition. Still, per Eurohoops sources, no contact was made between the sides, as Messina confirms.
“There is nothing. I have no comment to make. He’s a great player who’s been struggling physically since last year. Ask the Gazzetta who launched this novelty without even making a phone call to us. Evidently, they just read it on Twitter and wrote an article,” Messina said.
With Kevin Pangos out at least until March and former leading scorer Shavon Shields inactive until February, it is still uncertain whether Milano will try to reinforce.
One thing seems clear: Kemba Walker won’t be coming to the Mediolanum forum.
The experienced playmaker has been a free agent since the Dallas Mavericks waived him earlier in January. He appeared in nine games with the Mavericks‘ jersey and had a 32-point, seven-assist performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers in December.
One of the best players in Charlotte Hornets history struggled in the past couple of seasons, trying his luck after leaving the Hornets unsuccessfully with Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, and Dallas Mavs this season.
