With February 9 trade deadline approaching, Portland Trail Blazers are reportedly open to discussing the majority of its players, particularly Josh Hart and Jusuf Nurkic, as per Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.
The Oregon-based team is committed to building a playoff contender around Damian Lillard and is willing to extend the contract to Jerami Grant.
Apart from those two players, others could be used in trades in the near future, with Portland engaging teams with an eye toward size with athleticism, plus wing-shooting defenders, Fischer adds.
There’s a lot of interest in Hart’s services, as he’s expected to decline a 12.9 million dollars player option for the 2023-24 season.
As for Nurk, he’s been part of the Trail Blazers’ organization since 2017. Apart from some injury troubles, he was one of the most important pieces of Portland’s team.
The Bosnian big man played 315 regular season games for the Blazers, while this term, he’s providing almost a double-double on average, with 14,1 points and 9,7 rebounds per game.
Led by Chauncy Billups, Portland is playing way below expectations and is currently sitting in the No. 12 position in the Western Conference standings with a 23-25 score.
