The Philadelphia 76ers are signing free agent center Dewayne Dedmon for the rest of the season, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Dedmon will serve as a backup to Joel Embiid and will fight for minutes with Montrezl Harrell who’s having his worst season in four years.
The 33-year-old was traded by the Miami Heat to the San Antonio Spurs along with a 2028 second-round pick and subsequently waived last week before debuting for the Texas-based team.
Dewayne Dedmon returns to Philly as he previously played 11 games with the Sixers during the 2013-14 season.
In 30 games during this season with Miami, Dedmon was averaging 5,7 points to go along with 3,6 rebounds.
During his NBA career, the experienced center averaged 6,4 points and 5,9 boards over 507 appearances with the Golden State Warriors, 76ers, Orlando Magic, the Spurs, Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings, and the Heat.
