Jokic posts triple-double in heavyweight battle with Doncic

The Denver Nuggets logged a third straight win over the Dallas Mavericks with respective European stars taking over once more Wednesday evening.

Nikola Jokic notched his 21st triple-double in the 2022-23 NBA Regular Season as his side prevailed, 118-109, in Ball Arena. The Serbian big tallied 14 points behind 6/9 shots alongside 13 rebounds and ten assists. Starting alongside the Joker, Slovenian Vlatko Cancar chipped in 12 points, three rebounds, and two assists over 25 minutes. Jeff Green scored a season-high 24 points coming off the bench.

Slovenian Luka Doncic scored 37 points in the last game before the All-Star break. He added nine assists, four steals, and four rebounds lasting 35 minutes. Replacing Kyrie Irving (back) in the starting unit, French Frank Ntilikina finished with four points, two rebounds, and one steal. Latvian Davis Bertans (calf) and German Maxi Kleber (hamstring) were additional players out for the visitors.

In his Oklahoma City Thunder debut, Croatian Dario Saric tallied 12 points, five rebounds, and one steal in the win, 133-96, against the Houston Rockets. For the losing side, Turkish Alperen Sengun had eight points, ten rebounds, and two assists. Serbian Boban Marjanovic paired two points with two rebounds. Spanish Usman Garuba filed four rebounds, one steal, and one assist.

Similar to Saric, Ukrainian Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk played his first game since being traded to the Charlotte Hornets and put in 12 points, including two triples in the fourth quarter in a critical contribution to the win, 120-110, versus the San Antonio Spurs in Spectrum Center. Polish Jeremy Sochan logged six points and five rebounds for San Antonio.

Croatian Bojan Bogdanovic went for 28 points, five rebounds, and two assists as the Detroit Pistons lost, 127-109, to the Boston Celtics in TD Garden. French Killian Hayes recorded ten points, nine assists, two steals, and two rebounds. Paving the way for the Eastern Conference leaders, Jayson Tatum poured in 38 points.
