Sacramento has another McDonalds all-American basketball player in Andrej Stojakovic, but so do Serbia and Greece. The son of former Sacramento Kings star Predrag Stojakovic has Serbian roots from his father’s side and Greek from his mothers.
He has never played for the youth national teams, but it seems he has a favorite country.
“I’m excited to be there to represent Sacramento and Greece. I’m super excited,” said Stojakovic as he was presented with his Mcdonald’s all-American uniform.
The young forward possesses traits similar to that of his father, who shined as a King during their golden era from 1998-2006. In that span, Peja earned three All-Star nods and eventually won an NBA championship in 2011 with the Dallas Mavericks before getting his No. 16 jersey retired by Sacramento.
He started his career in Europe, playing for PAOK before moving to the NBA while winning two gold medals won in the Eurobasket and one in the FIBA World Cup with Serbia.
