It seems that Pau Gasol has carried the huge winning gene he had as a player to his work as a coach.
Team Pau, coached by the Spanish giant, beat Team Joakim (coached by former NBA enter Joakim Noah) 25-20 to win the Jordan Rising Stars championship in the opening festivities of the 2023 All-Star weekend.
“2-0 record as a coach by the way,” Pau Gasol tweeted after the game.
Team Pau delivered!!! Proud of my players, this has been so fun 🤩 2-0 record as a coach, by the way 🤷🏼 #JordanRisingStars #NBAAllStar

Jose Alvarado drained the 3-pointer that “locked” the win for Team Pau with 10 seconds remaining. The New Orleans Pelicans sophomore guard won Rising Stars MVP.

Paolo Banchero had nine points in the semifinal and four in the final.
