17-year-old Spanish big man Aday Mara is one of the participants in the 2023 Basketball Without Borders Global camp that is held as a part of the 2023 NBA All-Star weekend.

Mara, a member of hometown team Zaragoza in the Spanish ACB League, is a 2,21 m. (7′ 3″) center with a notable skillset for his size and frame.

He’s been compared with fellow unicorn Victor Wembanyama, the French big man who’s widely expected to be the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, barring a major surprise.

This season Mara is playing professional basketball with Zaragoza, getting some time in ACB, arguably the top domestic competition outside the NBA. He’s been averaging 5.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in 10:16 minutes over 16 games so far and had his top performance in an away win of his team over Manresa with 10 points plus eight rebounds.

Before 2022-23 started, Mara won the silver medal in the U17 World Championship with the Spanish national team. He finished the tournament with 12.6 points, 5.0 rebounds plus 1.9 blocks and had his best game vs. Team USA in the Final (76-69) with 16 points, seven rebounds, five blocks and three assists.
