Juancho Hernangomez is being waived by the Toronto Raptors according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. He’s joining Goran Dragic as another European player who’s becoming a free agent.
Hernangomez, 27, had signed with the Raptors last July. The Spanish forward averaged 2.9 points and 2.9 rebounds in 14.9 minutes in 2022-23 until his last appearance with the Toronto Jersey (a 118-93 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers).
The more the season progressed the less minutes Juancho was getting. He spent 21.4 minutes on the floor in October and then this number significantly dropped every month. During February, he played 4.3 minutes over three games.
Before the 2022-23 NBA season, Hernangomez helped Spain win the gold medal in the EuroBasket. He registered his top performance in the Final vs. France, scoring 27 points on 7-9 3-pointers.
