Bogdan Bogdanovic has one year remaining in his contract with the Atlanta Hawks but may not be with the team next season. According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, Bogdanovic is expected to decline his player option for 2023-24 so that will hit the market as a free agent.
Per Scotto:
“Bogdan Bogdanovic is expected to enter free agency this summer. To do so, he’ll have to decline his $18 million player option. This is a guy that’s one of the more notable shooters on the team. He’s had some injuries he’s had to deal with and has come up in trade rumors as well.”
If the reports is eventually confirmed, then Bogdanovic will explore available opportunities in the market after his sixth season in the NBA. So far in 2022-23, the Serbian guard is averaging 14.3, 3.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists while shooting close to 40 percent (39.8) on 3-pointers (105-264). His shooting skills, and not only, can make him a quite appealing option in the offseason if he chooses to opt-out of his contract.
Bogdanovic, a former All-EuroLeague player and champion in 2017 with Fenerbahce, began his NBA career six years ago with the Sacramento Kings. So far in the NBA, he has 14.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.3 assiss over 354 games.
