Avoiding a one-game suspension for Luka Doncic is very good news for the Dallas Mavericks

Canceling the latest technical foul called on Luka Doncic, the NBA sets the Slovenian star on track to play against the Indiana Pacers tonight, Monday.

The league announced that the technical foul from the away game versus the Charlotte Hornets on the latest edition of NBA Sundays was rescinded upon review. The official update on the playing status of Doncic was confirmed Monday, a few hours ahead of the visit to Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Doncic, 24, was initially facing a one-game suspension for his 16th technical foul in the NBA Regular Season.

With seven games left and extending the campaign into the Play-Ins and Playoffs hanging in the balance, Doncic being forced to the sidelines would shape an even more difficult challenge for the team coached by Jason Kidd.  Carrying a 36-39 record, they are one game outside the Play-In zone of the Western Conference and 2.5 games behind a direct ticket to the Playoffs.

The Mavs will visit Philadelphia, Miami, and Atlanta to complete the five-game road trip, before returning home to wrap up regular-season play by facing the Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls, and San Antonio Spurs in American Airlines Center. Barring a setback, Doncic will be part of the mission to salvage a late berth in the postseason.

On his fifth NBA season, all in Dallas, the 2018 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and 2017 EuroBasket champion has put up 33.1 points, 8.7 rebounds, 8.2 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game.
