In the last game of the NBA Regular Season, the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the New Orleans Pelicans, but the spotlight wasn’t on the outcome of the game. During the encounter, in fact, Rudy Gobert started arguing with his teammate Kyle Anderson and eventually punched him in the face.
After being suspended for one game by the club, the former Utah Jazz 30-year-old player explained the whole situation and how they dealt with it. “We both apologized to each other and you move on. That’s life. It’s different when you have millions of people all watching videos and have an opinion on things that happened, but that we can’t control. What we can control is the respect that we have for each other and our relationship”, he said in an interview with the Associated Press.
The Minnesota Timberwolves lost 108-102 to the Los Angeles Lakers in the first game of the Play-In tournament, and they are set to face the Oklahoma City Thunder to advance to the playoffs. Rudy Gobert, who is averaging 13.4 points and 11.6 rebounds per game, maybe missing it due to a back injury.
Emotions got the best of me today. I should not have reacted the way i did regardless of what was said. I wanna apologize to the fans, the organisation and particularly to Kyle, who is someone that i truly love and respect as a teammate.
