With plenty of promising upstarts making themselves available for the 2023 NBA draft in recent days, the NBA confirmed initial intentions through a long list of early entry candidates, including French prodigy Victor Wembanyama.
All the youngsters can withdraw participation until a later deadline, as detailed by the league.
The 2023 NBA draft will be held on June 22 in Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York. Wembanyama is widely expected to be selected first overall with more European talent in the running to get their name called on the stage.
Per the press release: “The National Basketball Association announced today that 242 players have filed as early entry candidates for NBA Draft 2023 presented by State Farm.
Players who have applied for early entry have the right to withdraw their names from consideration for the Draft by notifying the NBA of their decision in writing no later than 5 p.m. ET on Monday, June 12. Under NCAA rules, in order to retain college basketball eligibility, college players who have entered NBA Draft 2023 must withdraw by Wednesday, May 31.
