After surprising elimination in the first round of the NBA playoffs to an 8th-seeded Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo gave a speech to remember, and it caused a massive reaction in the sports world.
It even resonated with Real Madrid’s legendary football coach Carlo Ancelotti, who praised Giannis’ inspiring words about the failure and success.
“What Antetokounmpo said was spectacular… Failure is when you don’t try to do something as well as you can. When you try to do your best, you have a clear conscience, and that’s never a failure, not just in sport but in life,” four-time UEFA Champions League winner said.
As someone who clearly knows what it takes to win, Ancelotti agrees that failure is also part of the journey, or as Giannis said, that “there are steps to success.”
“In sport, you lose a lot more often than you win, I have a big cabinet with a lot of trophies, but if I had to include all the ones I’ve lost, it wouldn’t be a cabinet; it would be a house,” one of the most decorated European football coaches concluded.
