The Sacramento Kings are owing the NBA rights to Sasha Vezenkov who is having an MVP-caliber EuroLeague season and the GM of the Kings, Monte McNair, talked about him and also about Olympiacos while addressing the local media after the end of their season.
Monte McNair who won the Executive of the Year award didn’t provide any details about an upcoming deal with the Bulgarian forward, however, he praised him and Olympiacos for their season.
After obviously admitting that the Kings are tracking the player – and they even traveled twice to Greece to do that – McNair added: “Right now we are enjoying watching him and his team. They have a fantastic year, Olympiacos is a fantastic club. We have been able to know him a little bit and we will sit down, and see what our off-season looks like in the next few weeks and that will be a decision for later this summer”.
Vezenkov is obviously a target of the team, his contract with Olympiacos includes NBA-opt-out clauses, however, it is still premature to make any kind of predictions about him leaving for the NBA, even if he is clearly ready for the jump.
