The NBA released the full voting tallies and lists of which players every voter selected for the 2022-23 NBA awards of the regular season.

It was already known that Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid got 73 votes to be named the 2023 NBA MVP. Nikola Jokic got 15 and Giannis received 12. What came as a kind of surprise was that there was one voter who didn’t include Jokic at all in any of his five choices for MVP, as TNT analyst and Hall of Famer Charles Barkley had revealed.

That was former All-Star, and now ESPN analyst Mark Jackson who picked, in order, Embiid, Antetokounmpo, Boston Celtics‘ Jayson Tatum, Oklahoma City Thunder‘s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Cleveland Cavaliers‘ Donovan Mitchell.

Barkley had actually mentioned that: “There’s one person — I don’t even know this fool’s name — didn’t even have [Jokic] in the top five. People like that shouldn’t get a vote.”
